Relationship Therapy

Relationships take work — not because something is wrong, but because closeness, trust, and intimacy require effort. Whether you’re in the middle of a hard chapter, trying to decide what comes next, or simply want to deepen a relationship that’s already good, I’d be glad to help you and your partner(s) find your way forward.

I work with couples and partners using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), integrated with Imago Relationship Therapy.

Both approaches share a core belief that relationship conflict is often about deeper needs for connection, safety, and being seen by the people we love.

What Relationship Therapy With Me Looks Like

EFT helps us slow down the cycles that get partners stuck — the pursue-withdraw patterns, the escalating arguments, the slow drift into distance — and understand the vulnerable emotions and unmet needs underneath them. Imago adds practical structure for communication, helping partners truly hear each other, often for the first time in a long time.

Together, this means we’ll work on:

  • Identifying and interrupting the negative cycles that keep you stuck in the same fights

  • Understanding the attachment needs and fears underneath conflict

  • Rebuilding emotional safety and trust

  • Practicing communication that helps you actually feel heard by each other

  • Reconnecting with what drew you together in the first place

Relationships of All Kinds, Welcome As You Are

I work with relationships in many forms, and I bring the same care and lack of judgment to all of them:

  • Couples and partners working through conflict, disconnection, life transitions, or rebuilding after a rupture

  • Consensually non-monogamous relationships, including polycules, open relationships, and other relationship structures — I’m CNM-aware and affirming, and I won’t treat your relationship structure as the problem to be solved

  • Partners doing discernment work. This is when one or more of you are unsure whether to stay together, repair, or separate, and want clarity rather than pressure in either direction

  • Relationships that are doing well and want to go deeper — not every relationship that comes to therapy is in crisis. Many of my clients come in feeling good about their relationship and wanting a “tune-up”: deepening intimacy, improving communication, or simply investing in something that already matters to them

On Discernment Work

If you’re not sure whether you want to repair your relationship or end it, you don’t need to have that answer before reaching out. Discernment-focused work is designed exactly for this in-between space — a structured, low-pressure way to get clarity on what you each want, without committing to a particular outcome before you’re ready. My role isn’t to push you toward staying together or separating; it’s to help you both get honest clarity, so that whatever you decide, you decide it with your eyes open.

Getting Started

I offer telehealth sessions to clients located in California. The first step is usually a brief consultation, where we can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy now and what you’re hoping for — whether that’s repair, clarity, or simply going deeper.
